Mentoring programs

The mentoring programs of the Parc Taulí Research and Innovation Institute (I3PT) aim to promote innovative ideas and facilitate their transfer to the market. They are carried out with the support of the I3PT innovation team and are based on methodologies validated by reference organizations such as CIMIT in Boston and Stanford.

Research staff participating in any of the three available programs (GENES_IT, BRING_IT and GROW_IT) obtain essential tools and resources to validate and develop their proposals.

The programs are part of the project "Unidad de Dinamización e Innovación Unicéntrico Integrado Parc Taulí", funded by the ISCIII Platform for support of R&D&I in Biomedicine and Health Sciences (ITEMAS).

Programs

GENES_IT is an innovation program designed to help healthcare professionals and researchers, from both Parc Taulí and the ITEMAS Associated Units Associates in ITEMS, in identifying de nneeds No. covers and the generation of ideas innovative in Hello. The program, based on the methodology Stanford BIODESIGN, helps develop ideas at an early maturity level (TLR 0-2), from identifying the need to inventing and selecting viable solutions. It is organized into five phases:

  • 1 phase: Detection of unmet needs (Needs Finding)
  • 2 phase: Filtering and prioritizing needs (Needs Screening) and needs assessment with possible stakeholders
  • Phase 3: Needs assessment with possible stakeholders and generation of innovation solutions (Concept Generation)
  • 4 phase: Prioritizing the most viable solutions (Concept Screening)
  • 6 phase: Presentation the journey through the program(Demo Day)

BRING_IT and A program of innovation aimed at healthcare professionals and researchers, both from Parc Taulí and the ITEMAS Associated Units Associates which are part of the ITEMAS platform, with the aim of promoting the development of innovative solutions that respond to unmet needs. 

Its objective is to help projects in the initial stages of maturity (TRL 2-3). The program offers personalized support to plan and execute the steps that allow their progression.

BRING_IT is based on the CIMIT methodology from Boston (adapted to Catalonia by CIMTI) and addresses the development and advancement of health innovation projects from four key domains: clinical, market and business, regulatory and technology.

BRING_IT is a strategic and updated tool for centers that wish to:

  • Train professionals and research personnel in innovation using a proven methodology.
  • Provide essential resources and tools to validate and value projects.
  • Promote an innovative and collaborative culture among participating centers.
  • Improve the efficiency of innovation processes.
  • Increase the real impact of the projects generated.
  • 1ª phase: Unmet need
  • 2ª phase: Idea development
  • 3ª phase: Presentation and pitch preparation pitch
  • 4ª phase (optional): Call preparation

Monthly dedication: 8 hours

Duration: 3 months

GROW_IT is an innovation program aimed at promoting projects that are in more advanced stages of maturity (TRL 4-5), and that have already clearly defined their value proposition, with the aim of continuing to advance in their validation and preparation for the market. 

The Innovation Unit is currently working on the development of the program, with the intention of launching it throughout 2026. In the coming months, the methodological details, work phases and participation requirements will be specified.
