El Parc Taulí Simulation Laboratory (SimPT) is a space intended for the training and education of healthcare professionals in the different stages of their training (undergraduate, postgraduate and continuing education). It also offers space for the development of teaching and research activities based on simulation to I3PT researchers and other external healthcare and educational institutions.
One of its objectives is to become a reference point in simulation at a national and international level, recognized by the main simulation societies.
The training carried out in the SimPT Laboratory has specific, achievable and measurable objectives, along with both institutional and external recognition, depending on the characteristics of the activity and its interest.
- Support for the design and accreditation of teaching programs
- Creation and incorporation of new sustainable devices. “Low cost” program
- Audiovisual and technological support aimed at simulation
- Development of new technologies and training methodologies
- Bank of standardized or simulated actors
- “Train of trainers” training programs
- Research and evaluation of the impact of simulation
Given the characteristics of the SimPT Laboratory, the activities carried out are: medium-high complexity, SimZone 2 in specialized healthcare training and SimZone 3 (high-fidelity scenarios for multi-professional teams).
Among the activities carried out are:
- Advanced Life Support in adult, pediatric and neonatal patients
- Addressing emergency, medical or surgical situations
- Thematic activities in hemodynamics, respiratory, mechanical ventilation and physiotherapy
- Healthcare communication in situations of greater complexity (cultural diversity, bad news, error)
