The specialty

Obstetricogynecological nursing is a specialty that provides comprehensive care for the sexual, reproductive and maternal health of women, their preventive facet, promotion and health care and recovery, including care for the mother, in the diagnosis, control and assistance of pregnancy, childbirth and normal puerperium and care for the healthy newborn child, up to 28 days of age.

Service Description

The Gynecology and Obstetrics Service is part of the Women's and Child Care Center (CADI), which also includes the Pediatric Medicine Service and the Pediatric Surgery Service.

We are a Level III A Reference Service for a large area of ​​population in central and northern Catalonia.

Gynecology and Obstetrics professionals work as a team to provide comprehensive care to women at all stages of their lives.

The Parc Taulí Gynecology and Obstetrics Service has a hospital floor with a total of 23 beds for obstetric hospitalization and gynecological emergencies and beds for hospitalization for gynecological surgical patients in the surgical hospital floor according to demand

The delivery room has 2 emergency examination rooms, 1 fetal monitoring room, 6 dilation-delivery rooms, 2 operating theaters and 1 Post Anesthesia Recovery Unit (URPA).

The outpatient activity takes place in the outpatient clinics located on the 2nd floor of the same building, with 9 boxes, one of which is equipped for minor and major outpatient surgery.

Between 60-70% of the clinical training will take place in specialized care and between 30-40% in primary care at the ASSIR Cerdanyola/Sabadell.
