SCIENTIFIC REPORT 2012
Technology transfer
The innovation process begins when the professional has an idea that
meets two essential requirements: novelty (is new in its field or improvement
substantially what already exists) and the market potential (the result of this
idea must be able to sell).
Through valorisation, the innovation unit identifies, ascertains and
increases the value of ideas and inventions, supporting and facilitating the
technology transfer. The UDIPT supports the transfer of the
technology mainly in three areas:
Feasibility plan
Development of a viability plan to transfer the technology to the
market.
Project planning and definition of activities and
responsibilities.
Search for industrial collaborators for the development of the
technology.
Search for commercial collaborators to send the invention to the
market.
Protection of technology and alliances
Implementation of the appropriate intellectual property strategy for the
invention.
Application for the corresponding protection for the technology.
