Our hereditary cancer laboratory unit is dedicated to the molecular diagnosis of all those patients in whom there is a clinical suspicion of hereditary cancer. Patients and families with a suspected genetic susceptibility to cancer are evaluated at the genetic counseling consultation. In the laboratory and using NGS techniques, all those genes responsible for hereditary cancer that have clinical utility are analysed. The identification of risk genetic variants allows: i) to offer follow-up, prevention strategies and personalized treatment depending on the identified variant and ii) comprehensive genetic counseling to patients and their families.

The Oncogenomics unit also provides services and collaborates closely with the Pathology and Oncology Services in the genetic-molecular diagnosis of somatic cancer, where the use of massive sequencing has been consolidated in the study of somatic mutations in solid tumors

The Hematology Unit and the Genetics Laboratory support the Clinical Hematology Service for the integrated diagnosis of hematological neoplasms, as well as in research projects. We support the Catalan group of germinal hematological neoplasms.
