Unit specialized in the research and application of pharmacogenomics and advanced therapies. Pharmacogenomics studies how an individual's genetic variability can affect the response to medications and makes it possible to develop personalized treatment plans based on this information. Advanced therapies, on the other hand, are a set of new therapeutic techniques – gene, cell and tissue – that can be used to treat chronic and complex diseases, such as cancer and rare diseases, and to improve individualized the patients' quality of life.

The Parc Taulí Hospital has an Advanced Therapies Platform made up of:

  1. The Pharmacogenomics and Advanced Therapies Unit of the Center for Genomic Medicine – supervision of the Platform.
  2. The USAC-I3PT Clinical Trials Support Unit – management of clinical trials.
  3. The Pharmacy Service – pharmaceutical care and medication management
  4. Other services involved such as the Quality Unit, Nursing, Laboratory Service, Imaging Diagnostics, etc.
