The director of the General Surgery and Digestive System Service, Salvador Navarro, receives the Professional Excellence Award given by the CoMB

Dr. Navarro, with an extensive and recognized care, research and teaching career, has been the director of the Surgery Service and Digestive System of Parc Taulí for 13 years and, since 2013, president of the Catalan Society of Surgery. In the teaching field, he is currently vice-dean of the Faculty of Medicine at the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB) and coordinator of the Teaching Unit of the Taulí-UAB Park.
The award ceremony was held yesterday at the Teatre Romea in Barcelona. The Professional Excellence Awards of the Official College of Physicians of Barcelona (CoMB) have been awarded annually since 2004 at the discretion of juries made up of renowned doctors, and are the recognition of the medical profession to professionals and healthcare teams that have stood out for an exemplary trajectory of exercise of the highest quality and for the exaltation of the values that make up medical professionalism.
Salvador Navarro has also been, since 2003, the director in Catalonia of the Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) training course - for the training of medical experts in the evaluation and initial treatment of polytrauma patients - and state director of the Definitive Surgery for Trauma Care (DSTC) - aimed at surgeons responsible for decision-making in trauma -, which each year attracts expert surgeons from around the world as teachers.
At the same event, Dr. was also awarded. Lluís Donoso, until recently executive director of UDIAT Diagnostic Center of Parc Taulí.
