Dr. Josep Visa, new vice-president of the Catalan Society of Ophthalmology

The ophthalmologist at Sabadell Hospital, Josep Visa, has been unanimously appointed vice-president of all the members of the Catalan Society of Ophthalmology (SCOFT), a position he will hold for four years. Dr. Visa is an expert in the diagnosis and treatment of ocular muscle disorders and a specialist in strabismus surgery in both children and adults.
Dr. Visa has also held the presidency of the Spanish Society of Pediatric Strabology and Ophthalmology (SEEOP) for four years (2012-2016). He is the author of two books on strabismus: 'Manejo de la diplopia' published in 2008 and 'Tratamiento actual del estrabismo' published in 2014. He has published several works on pediatric ophthalmology, pediatric strabismus, adult and neurophthalmology in national and international publications , is a member of the American and European societies of this specialty, and an honorary member of the SEEOP.
In the field of research he has participated in several multicenter studies on pediatric cataract surgery. He has presented numerous papers at various conferences and has taught courses in oculomotor pathology and pediatric ophthalmic pathology aimed at ophthalmologists and paediatricians.
His goals as Vice President of the Catalan Society of Ophthalmology they are to promote the specialty and enhance the involvement of Parc Taulí in this entity.
