Sabadell Corre for children, the Báilale a la Vida Association, the Sabadell Swimming Club (CNS) and the Sabadell Athletic Youth (JAS), presented today, in a press conference held at Parc Taulí, the II Sabadell Corre Solidarity Race for the Children ”and the big children's party, which will take place on May 28 in Sabadell, with the participation of the Corporació Sanitària Parc Taulí (CSPT) and Sabadell City Council.

The presentation was attended by the Mayor of Sabadell, Juli Fernàndez, the President of the Parc Taulí, Modesto Custodio, the Deputy Mayor for Promotion of the city and Councilor for Sports, Marisol Martinez, the organizer of Sabadell Corre pel Nens , Toni Valverde, the representative of Club Natació Sabadell, Ernest Aguilar, the president of the Joventut Atlètica Sabadell, Pep Molins, the president of the Associació Báilale a la Vida, Maite Fruitós and the doctor of the Paediatrics Service of Parc Taulí, Montserrat Forest.

This second solidarity race will have a 4,2 km route through the city. It will start at Parc Taulí, with a tour of the most important streets of the city and end at Parc Taulí, where we will celebrate with a great children's solidarity party (live music, dancing, crafts, games, bar service…), organized by the Báilale a la Vida Association.

This year, the profits obtained from the organization of the aforementioned activities will go to the “Give them a voice” project, to support the care of children with minority diseases from the Parc Taulí Pediatric Service.

In the presentation of the race, the president of the CSPT, Modesto Custodio, thanked the organizers, collaborators and citizen organizations for their effort in carrying out this solidarity initiative, and noted that "Parc Taulí is proud of this massive participation of the city's entities in a coordinated way."

For her part, the Councilor for Sports, Marisol Martínez, remarked that “From the council we want to promote sport as a tool of work in values ​​such as overcoming, discipline or teamwork. One of the lines of work is solidarity sport and Sabadell is a leading city in solidarity sport ”.

Toni Valverde, promoter of the race together with Maite Fruitós, has stated that they want to reach the 5.000 registered and to achieve this they will involve all the schools and the AMPAs in Sabadell. "We want to grow as an entity, there are many children who suffer from a minority disease and we want to help them. This year we have done a bigger project: it will be a joint party, there will be activities throughout the morning in Parc Taulí ”. Maite Fruitós has detailed these activities that will include crafts, dances, workshops, construction of a set, among others.

Dra. Montserrat Bosque presented the “Give them a voice” project, and pointed out the importance of comprehensive control of minority diseases in order to achieve healthcare excellence. The members of the JAS and the Sabadell Swimming Club, Pep Molins and Ernest Aguilar, collaborating entities of the race, have shown all their support in the organization of this event, and their gratitude for being able to participate.

The closing of the press conference was given by the Mayor of Sabadell, Juli Fernàndez, who emphasized that “we have all the elements to make this race go well. We all have reasons to take part in this race and we have the opportunity to show that the city is committed to the children who suffer. ”

The solidarity day is sponsored by the Baricentro Shopping Center and the Galvez establishment and with the collaboration of many residents, companies and establishments in the city.
